Do Ho Suh

Do Ho Suh is a Korean artist who works mainly in sculpture but earned a degree in painting. He served in  the military before moving to the United States to continue his work as an artist. His work consists of items from his past and culture, using many small alike items to make one whole sculpture.

I like this piece because you have to really get involved in the piece to see what it is. It's very interactive. I also like the repetition and it's massive size in comparison to the small pictures.

Who Am We
2006

I find it really interesting that most of his work focuses as the whole being as one unit. He focuses on school and armies as a single unit made of many little parts. This piece is also interactive that you can walk on it and there it a reflective surface that you can see yourself in the front. the surface is probably so you could see yourself as a soldier like all the others that wore those dog tags did.
