Tokujin Yoshioka

Tokujin Yoshioka is a Japanese artist and sculptor. He studied under various artists before creating his own solo exhibit.
He works in mostly white sculpture in various different depictions and designs. I like his work because it's simple and yet intricate with such a great play on light with just a white and clear structure. a lot of his work reminds me of Tara Donovan in the way that some of the works are put together. He also works a lot in designing furniture art.

I thought this work was interesting. I like that it looks like it's just a clear structure, but the way the light and shadows play with the sculpture make it look like there are solid white structures in the midst of it. It looks a little dangerous too, which I think adds some interest to it.

This to me just looks like a giant wave a lighted white strands. I'm not sure what the strands are, though i can imagine them being something like straws or a straw like objects. I like how its works around the room in it's structure, which adds to the ocean/wave like feeling that I got from it in the first place.
